Missy

Sitting across the lunch table at me sat a vivacious, blonde-headed aerobic instructor. Full of fire and energy, I would never have guessed what lied beneath her confident exterior - a little shyness, a little "am I doing this right?" Questioning my every year of experience and trying to figure out how she could emulate it, I was more than happy to oblige. For you see, that is how I gained the confidence and experience I have been blessed to exhibit - others - others who pulled me behind them as they wiggled and shouted and yanked on their leotards back in the 80's day after day. I was a young Mom then, anxious to get back my figure and a double pleasure was time-out for my children to enjoy other children in the beautiful well-kept nursery at the gym. It was a win-win for me and my two toddlers. Born eighteen months apart, they were blonde, adorable and loving and I loved them. But the time in the gym was heaven-sent and it refreshed me mentally to head back to my real job - being a full-time Mom. So listening to Missy talk about envisioning her plans for the future in the fitness world and how she was living her dream, made me thankful and inspired me at the same moment. Her enthusiasm was contagious and I could easily see why her students and clients adored her as she oozed creativity. We both thanked God for the strength to endure what others might consider "grueling" and both of us thought of as "fun." What a delight to be of one mind and share a lunch with someone else who loved to sweat and stomp as much as I! I thanked God for aerobic instructors who lead us down the path of not just "better" but fantastic bodies in which to live!
